Leeanne Kerr, owner of Leeanne Kerr Hairdressing located on Henderson Street is extremely proud of being from Bridge of Allan. She says: “My mum was from Bridge of Allan and so was my nana.”
It was always a dream as a little girl to open a salon in the high street and now she is living that dream. Leeanne says: “It’s about the community. We are firm supporters of the other local businesses in the area.” She is so thankful for all the support over the past couple of years as she established her business, which is moving from strength to strength. At the salon they want to make people look and feel good. It’s an open, family-friendly salon welcoming everyone from all walks of life. It’s a place where you can feel comfortable to chat and share life stories while being made to feel good.
FAMILY Leeanne has a massive appreciation for life and for family. She is so appreciative of all the support she has had from her dad and also having the opportunity to work alongside her eldest daughter for the past three years in the salon. She’s spreading her wings and going to Australia in January 2020.
Since opening, Leeanne works closely with Start Up Stirling, donating a couple of haircuts per month for those going through temporarily difficulties. In Leeanne’s words this changes people’s lives. “You don’t realise how empowering you can be to other people, it’s easy to take yourself and what you do for granted.” Leeanne loves what she does and loves speaking to her clients day in, day out. She says: “I talk about my life experiences; telling other people helps them. We are just hard working people who work tirelessly to change our own lives, in order that you change other people’s.” Leeanne is passionate about raising awareness of mental health and addiction. Her salon is an open door for the community of Bridge of Allan and beyond.
